The Association has continued to maintain its foundation aims to protect, promote and foster the words and teachings of Guruji.
It has also established a thorough teacher training programme and assessment procedures for New Zealand teachers.
The IYANZ is part of the
world-wide network of Associations that aim to bring together
students and teachers who are interested in Guruji's work, and to protect,
promote and foster his words and teachings.
These Associations have been established in Mr Iyengar's name, and are
officially recognised and endorsed by him.

is for all of us. To limit yoga to national or cultural boundaries is the

Membership benefits of the IYANZ include a quarterly newsletter, access
to classes and workshops, a library, a bookshop, and the opportunity to support and communicate with those who share in the love of yoga.
Each year the IYANZ sponsors a visit, usually in August or September, by at least one respected Iyengar teacher to hold workshops throughout the main centers. Membership assures preferential entry to these events and usually also a discount on the normal price.
